Just about everyone in Springfield knows Nadim’s.
The restaurant participates in many downtown events and fundraisers like the Springfield BID’s Out to Lunch Concert Series, SantaCon, “Bowties and Beers” Suit Up Springfield, and “Culture & Cocktails” Springfield Museums.
Nadim’s Downtown Mediterranean Grill is currently taking donations to provide tasty meals to health care professionals at Baystate and Mercy hospitals during the pandemic.
Yelp foodie Jason D. of Springfield may have said it best when he called Nadim’s Springfield’s “best-known secret.”
“Nadim’s had kept the city lively during these uncertain times,” said Jason D. “It's an absolute social dining necessity in the city of Springfield.”
Chef/owner Nadim Kashouh was born in Liberia and lived in Lebanon for several months before escaping from that country's civil war and arriving in America in the 90s. Kashouh learned how to cook from his family and opened Nadim’s at the old Cafe Lebanon on State Street in 2000. Nadim's moved to the restaurant’s current Main Street location in 2005.
Menu standouts at Nadim’s include the scallops, Garlic Cilantro Lemon Wings, Sambosik (kind of like a beef turnover), Lentil soup, Kafta wrap, Fattoush salad, chicken simmered with herb gravy and roasted almonds, lamb shank, Spinach pie, Hummachos, and a variety of kabobs.
Yelp foodie Andrea C. of Keene, New Hampshire, said she first learned about Nadim’s when the restaurant donated food to the hospital where she works. Now she’s “obsessed.”
“I was first introduced to Nadims when they kindly donated food to our ICU this past Spring,” Andrea C. said. “Now I am absolutely obsessed, I have never had anything like the Nadims rice and I think it might be my favorite food. We always do takeout, and the food holds up really well to the wait and subsequent reheating.”
In addition to the food, online reviewers praised Nadim’s for its knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Yelp foodie Javish G. of Springfield said he appreciated the staff’s ability to explain the menu.
“The food is always on point,” Javish G. said. “I am a fan of splitting orders of kabobs to get the best of both worlds with my companion. The portions are generous and their falafel? ( I think ) it's amazing. Their flatbread with dipping sauce is also delicious and I wish I had gotten one to go. The wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and knew to answer all my what's that what's this questions.”
Nadim’s offers cooking classes with Chef Nadim on the last Saturday of every month. The restaurant also features live music on the last Thursday of the month.
